The High Speed Lab is suspending all Screw-type Supercharger Services, indefinitely. There are several factors involved with this change in policy. First, the marketplace has changed because, as we have heard, the original manufacturers of these type of superchargers have lost their sources for replacement parts, especially replacement rotors. The dimensions of the rotors in Screw-type Superchargers vary greatly, even between the same make and models. It is unlikely that a rotor swap will be easy to do because the rotors can be so different from one blower to the next. Second, the warranty by the original manufacturers of this type of supercharger has been changed. We will be changing our warranty policy accordingly. These changes have caused some supercharger repair machine shops, who have been attempting to rebuild these superchargers, to quit working on them all together. There is now a large influx of work for those companies that are still willing to rebuild and repair these precision components. We have been told there are only two left anywhere, including our company. Also, recently we had several customers who were abusing the equipment and demanding more than was appropriate of our involvement in their supercharger's repair. While we came through for these customers, we are unwilling to continue working on these until we can determine best how to avoid this issue coming up again. When the Screw-type Superchargers are overdriven, also refered to as overrevved or overboosted, they fail at a much higher rate than the Roots-type and Centrifugal-type superchargers due to rotor alignment design features. To drive the blower harder, (higher RPM) many customers switch the supercharger snout pulley to a smaller diameter pulley. Unfortunately many of them make a terrible mistake by using an Impact when loosening the bolt that holds this pulley on. Without realizing it, they have changed the alignment of the rotors and reset the tolerances. This will cause catistrophic failure, without a doubt. We will no longer warranty any supercharger whose pulley has been changed from what was installed by us at the time of service. We have found that these Screw-type superchargers are being consistantly misapplied to extreme boost circumstances that are causing failure due to this type of abuse. At this time, we are reevaluating what services will be offered, what kind of warranty-if any will be included, what replacement components we will produce and what prices these items will be available at.

The costs of replacement components, suchas bearings and seals, has increased substanially with the increase in petroleum and steel prices. If we do reinstate these services, the prices may be increased to account for the increase in costs associated with the repair.

This does not apply to work completed or in progress already. If you have sent your supercharger in before this policy was inacted, it will be completed as we have done up to this point. The warranty described on our website will apply as stated prior to 07/14/08.

This statement is valid until removed and takes precidence over all other statements found on this website. We are anticipating changes that may make these services actively offered again sometime in the future, therefore removal of all references on this website to Screw-type Superchargers will be delayed.

If you don't find what you need, Contact Us and we will be happy to assist you. Here are our Payment Methods and Policies. Thank you.
