This kit will be built up for your order and when ready will ship out. With the return of a rebuildable core rotor assembly, the paid core deposit is refundable up to the core deposit amount paid, and core condition affects refund amount. Our rotor assembly is built to the exact same specifications we use when we rebuild a supercharger at Embree Specialty Machine. To assist you in your assembly work, the tolerances are listed at the top of this section. All bearings and seals used are upgraded from the original part specifications and most importantly, the rotor seals are now a Double-lip Viton.
Here are a few details that may help you identify the supercharger you have.
The later Eaton M90 Gen5 TRD supercharger is usually painted Black instead of Alpine Grey. The upper and lower intake manifold is cast on to the supercharger housing. The nose drive has part of the intake runner cast onto it with a large TRD in raised letters.
The Eaton M90 Gen5 has 8 bolts in the Nosedrive bolt circle. With the Gen 1, 2 & 3 Eaton superchargers, this is a simple matter to determine because the Eaton M90 Gen3 has 9 bolts holding the Snout on. The M45 Gen3 and M62 Gen3 only have 8 bolts.

With this in mind we want you to know that if the rotor assembly that arrives does not match the one you need to replace, contact us immediately. What is done to the Embree Specialty Machine's newly re-manufactured Eaton Supercharger Rotor Assembly?
We completely disassemble the rotor assembly plate including removing the old seals and bearings. The bearing plate is carefully measured and paired with a newly re-coated pair of rotors. The ESM rotor coating is our special, exclusive interference-fit rotor coating, similar to Piston Skirt coating in durability and environment parameters. Our coating is durable in harsh environments found in configurations using nitrous injection systems, methanol or water injection. Then the rotor assembly plate is CNC machined to accomplish correct rotor timing and front rotor-to-bearing plate clearance, set at 0.006" to 0.009" and the mesh is split +/- 0.001" for optimum supercharger operation. Both rotor seals and rotor ball bearing have been replaced.

What are the specifications for the ESM Rotor Coating?
Superior, our Rotor Coating is very consistent because it is thickness checked during quality control inspection to ensure even application. Not all rotor coating available in the market is precision checked like ours. We check them so carefully after coating because the rotor assembly will work best and most quietly with proper thickness of rotor coating. You can see that the bearing plate is precision CNC machined to set the ideal tolerances, giving you optimum performance.

What are some important process points that can help with the rebuild process?
The inside race of the front nose drive ball bearing must be supported when installing the shaft. This means the shaft must be installed before the front nose drive seal is installed because the front nose drive seal will cover the inner race of the front nose drive bearing when the seal is installed. If you do not support the inner race, it will result in installation damage to the ball bearing. A clicking noise in the bearing after installation is a symptom of this.
Never use ball bearings with dust covers because in this application they are used in an oil bath.
Should a contact phone number be provided by the buyer when the item is ordered or purchased?
Providing a phone number is always helpful and leads to better service because we can contact you if there are any questions about your order. Of course we never have time to spam and never share information.
We recommend using Permatex Anaerobic Gasket Maker (PX#51817 NET .20 FL OZ or PX#51813 NET 1.69 FL OZ) which is designed for Aluminum flanges, available at some auto parts stores. Do not get any sealer or any debris in the rotors during installation. Do not use too much sealer or it will squeeze out into the rotors which will damage the supercharger. Completely clean any old sealer off the surfaces you are connecting the supercharger to because leaving the old sealer on the flanges will distort the supercharger housing when bolted together and cause failure. Follow the instructions on the package of the sealer for best results.
What is the tolerance goal for my assembly to work properly?
You will want a minimum gap of 0.006" to 0.010". The gap can be greater than 0.010" however this wide of a gap will allow for air charge leakage. The smaller the gap between the rear housing and the back rotor faces, the tighter the supercharger seal. The rotors should never touch each other or the housing internal bores, anywhere at all.

Purchase the item choice which includes a core charge. The new item will go out as soon as possible and before your core is received. You can keep your core if you prefer. We hope to encourage you to return the core by including a core charge. If you would like to send it in for a refund of the core charge, return ship it back to us within 15 days of receipt of the item. The cost of return shipping is always the buyer's responsibility so ship as cheaply as possible. The box our kit is sent to you in is built tough enough that you can use it to return your used rotor assembly core. So there is no need for you to round up a box and packing material. We want this to be easy for you. After you ship it, email me a tracking number to help identify yours by alerting us to its return. The core charge due will be refunded following the Shop Foreman's inspection check in of the returned core, normally 10-20 business days depending upon the shop load when the core is received. Damage can affect the core refund if it makes the core parts unusable for the next customer. See choice (B) to understand your options.
CHOICE (B):
To avoid the core charge, you purchase this item that does not include the core charge and then would then ship your core immediately. Shortly after our receipt of the core, we will ship the new item out. In this way, we can help you avoid the core charge while continuing to keep costs low for everyone.
